Center the Sapphire Whitening Crystal 1/4 to 1/2 inch from the teeth within the cheek retractor with the outer edges touching (if possible). Press the start activator button to start the bleaching process. Check on the patient every 15 minutes and after 30 minutes move the Whitening Crystal away and evaluate results with the patient to determine if a second 30-minute session is indicated.

The Professional Chairside kits are hydrogen peroxide. When peroxide breaks down (either on its own, or accelerated with a light) it forms oxygen bubbles that get down into the microscopic pores of the tooth to clean out stains.
